    Student Funds Team

    Finance

    • Introduction

      The Student Finance Team is located in the Student Centre, near Main Reception on the Chichester Campus and in the Courtyard on the Brinsbury Campus. We will help you ensure that money isn't a barrier to you coming to college. There are several funds, government schemes and bursaries that can help you. Find out here what financial assistance you are entitled to and how to apply here.

      Learning Support Grant 2023/2024

      Applications will open on the 1st August 2023

      We may be able to help you with the cost of fees, equipment, child care, travel, meals for 16-18 and residential costs. You do not have to be on benefits to get financial help. We have made applying as simple as possible, but it will involve filling in forms, providing evidence and telling us about your financial situation. We will then make an assessment based on your personal circumstances. Application forms are available from the Student Finance Team or click on the link below.

      Applications will be available to apply from the 1st August 2023. No payments will be made until the student has completed enrolment.

      Vulnerable Bursary  - for students under 19 on the 31st of August 2023.

      If you meet any of the following criteria, you will be eligible for the Vulnerable Bursary of up to £1,200 per academic year. Are you:

      • Aged 16 - 18 as of the 31st of August 2023 and living in care or have left care in the previous 3 months.
      • Aged 16 - 18 as of the 31st of August 2023 and receiving Income Support (IS) or Universal Credit (UC) in your own name and financially supporting yourself and / or someone who is dependant on you.
      • Aged 16 - 18 as of the 31st of August 2023 and receiving Employment Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit (UC) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

    • Childcare Support 2023/2024

      If you are 19 or under and you have children you can apply for help with childcare costs from the Care to Learn scheme. You can complete an online application via the Care to Learn website using this link https://www.gov.uk/care-to-learn.

      If you are aged 20 and over you may be eligible to apply to the Chichester College Learning Support Grant for help towards your Childcare costs. You must use a Ofsted accredited Childcare provider. Please contact the Student Finance Team for more information.

    Bus

    Stagecoach is offering a 7 day student megarider gold ticket for just £23.50 per week to allow unlimited bus travel on their bus services within West Sussex including routes to Brighton, Hampshire and Surrey. You will be eligible to a student discount when showing your Chichester College student card this will allow you to purchase your megarider gold ticket for £23.50.

    Rail Concession For Students

    IF your journey to Chichester or Brinsbury campus begins at Billingshurst, Shoreham-by-sea or Chichester, or any of the stations inbetween, you can purchase a 7 day unizone ticket for just £23.50.

    A unizone ticket entitles you to 7 days unlimted travel (within the destinations described above).

    Tickets: Weekly- £23.50

    To purchase the Unizone Ticket you will need both a16-25 Railcard and your College Student Card. Your student College card will be issued on enrollment. You will need to apply online at www.16-25railcard.co.uk/railcard for your 16-25 railcard and this will cost £30 for the year.

    N.B. Mature students over the age of 25 can also apply for the 16-25 railcard, they will need to upload and complete the Mature Student Declaration available on the 16-25 railcard website.

    If you’re aged 16 or 17, you can get 50% off standard Anytime, Off-Peak, Advance and Season tickets, helping you save money travelling travel to college.

     

    A 16-17 Saver is just £30 and is valid for one year or until your 18th birthday, whichever comes first.
