    IMPORTANT:  Your funding application cannot be assessed and processed until we have received the correct financial paperwork from you.

    Supporting financial evidence can be returned either by:

  • The Student Finance Grant can help with:-

    • fees
    • equipment
    • travel
    • meals (students aged 16-18, or students aged 19-25 and subject to a Learning Difficulty Assessment or Educational Health and Care plan, as at 31/8/23)
    • childcare

    You do not have to be on a benefit to qualify for financial help. Please see guidance notes to see what financial evidence is required.

  • Travel Support

    Travel funding is worked out on the cheapest discounted tickets available. Please see details below:

    Metrobus

    Metrobus runs a service in and around Crawley and offers discounted bus tickets to all students living in and outside the Crawley area.  Tickets and prices are available from Metrobus bus station.

    16-17 Saver Railcard

    £30 for 1 year

    Offers 50% off most rail fares for anyone aged 16 & 17 years old.

    Students aged 16 - 19 can travel at the child rate on production of a valid Student Fare Card.

    16-25 Railcard (cost £30 per year)

    NB. Mature students over the age of 25 can also apply for the 26-30 railcard.  A Mature Student Declaration form needs to be completed.  Forms are available on the 16-25 railcard website.

  • Childcare Support 2023/24

    If you are 19 or under and you have children you can apply for help with childcare costs from the Care to Learn scheme. You can complete an online application via the Care to Learn website using link below.
    

    If you are aged 20 and over you may be eligible to apply for help towards your childcare costs from the College Learner Support Grant funding.  You must use a Ofsted accredited childcare provider. Please contact Student Finance for more information.

    Applications for September 2023 will open on 1st August 2023.  Please email studentfinance@chigroup.ac.uk for further information.

  • Higher Education Bursaries

    You may be eligible for a bursary of up to £500 during the first year of your higher education course at the Chichester College Group.

    Your household income needs to be less than £25000 as per Student Finance England data at time of your application. You will need to meet the entry criteria and have an offer in place through UCAS or direct application with us as first choice at time of the bursary application.

  FREE COLLEGE MEALS

  To be eligible for Free College Meals students must be aged between 16 - 18 on 31/8/23 and parents in receipt of:-

  • Income Support
  • Income based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income of £16,190 or less, as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs
  • Universal Credit with net earnings not exceeding the equivalent of £7,400 pa. You must provide a copy off your Universal Credit Award notice that includes your monthly earnings.

  Students aged19-24 as at 31/8/23 and subject to a  Education Health and Care plan and EFS (European Social Funded) Students aged 16-18 as at 31/8/23.
