Read and Write Gold Activity 2

Converting text to a Sound File

Some people find it difficult to read and remember what they have just read.  Read and Write Gold can help you to convert your work and store it on your laptop as an MP3 sound file.  This is useful if you want to try revising in a different way.

Try the following:

1.   Open Read and Write Gold;

2.   Watch the ‘Speech Maker Video Tour’;

3.   Write a brief Word document or open an existing document;

4.   Highlight the text;

5.   Click on the ‘Speech Maker’ icon and follow the steps;

6.   Save to ‘My documents’;

7.   Open your documents, click on the file and listen to your work.

Try to think about the parts of your course where this might be useful.  For example, you could use this to help you to revise for any of your tests or exams.  You can copy the saved document on to a memory stick and listen to it on your way in to College or on your way home.
