The college counselling team are on hand to offer free, professional, impartial, and confidential advice..
We offer a safe environment without judgement, to express feelings around any topic.
We aim to help support individuals on their unique journey, to promote growth, personal progression and individual success.
Counselling service times
The service is available during Term Time,
Sessions: Face to face are offered on Thursdays.
Teams and via phone are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

What is Counselling
Counselling is a safe space to explore any difficult emotions, your worries, thoughts, anxieties, and feelings of distress and when facing any difficult decisions that you are trying to make sense of and seek some resolution for. Counselling can also help you gain an understanding of yourself in relation to others and that may then help you to form better relationships.
Counsellors work with a wide range of issues that impact young people and adults. Below are just some of the difficulties you may want to talk about with your counsellor.

- Low self-esteem or confidence
- Low mood and depression
- Relationships

How it works
If you decide that you would like counselling email counselling@haywardsheath.ac.uk to request a self-referral form. Once you have completed and returned your referral form, you will be offered an initial appointment. The initial appointment is an opportunity for us to work together so you and the counsellor can understand more about the current difficulties you are facing as well as your goals for counselling.
Our Counsellors
Counselling is provided 1-to-1 by a qualified and experienced counsellor. Our counselling service works to the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, BACP ethical framework, 2018
