  • Welcome to our Getting Ready packs, to help you prepare for your Access to Higher Education in September.

Study Skills : Most students who embark on an Access to Higher Education course have been away from education for a while and have not studied at Level 3 before.  To prepare you for study, therefore, we have included lots of useful webinars on study skills for you to watch to help you prepare for your course.

Blended Learning Skills : Some of you will have chosen one of our fabulous blended learning courses to help you combine work with study  to help you change or enhance your career.  For those studying a blended learning course, there are tutorials and webinars to help you get the best from your blended learning experience.

Preparing to Apply for Higher Education - UCAS : The reason for choosing an Access to Higher Education course is to enable you to study a related degree at University or College.   Time is always of the essence to complete your UCAS application so it is important that you start thinking about this before you start your Access course.  These resources will support you in starting your application before you begin to study.

Subject Introduction: click on the course you have chosen, and you will find resources to help you prepare for studying that subject in September.

      1. Introductory webinar - webinars recorded by the subject teacher to introduce you to the subject, information on how it is assessed and the careers opportunities upon graduation.
      2. The Summer Project is a project for you to complete before you start college and submit to get you ready for studying.  Please follow the instructions on the front page of the document for each subject on how to submit your Summer Project.
      3. Joining Instructions - you will also find joining instructions telling you details about your first day at college.  Make sure you read this so you know what to expect and what you need to bring.
