Read and Write Gold Activity 3

Creating a Fact Folder

Some people find it difficult organise their revision notes and to reference their work.  ‘Fact Folder goes a long way towards doing this for you!

Try the following:

1.   Open Read and Write Gold;

2.   Watch the ‘Fact Folder Video Tour’;

3.   Select and open a website;

4.   Highlight text and click on the ‘Fact Folder’ icon – this will add a quote to the folder;

5.   Delete the text in the ‘Title’ and add your own title;

6.   Change the author’s name;

7.   Create a category and tick the box;

8.   Write your opinion/evaluation of the quote in the ‘Description’ box.

You can now send or ‘export’ this information to a Word document.  This document will contain all of your quotes, evaluation of quotes and will also be referenced.

To do this:

1.    Click on the black, drop-down arrow next to the ‘Fact Folder’ icon;

2.   Select ‘Review Facts’;

3.   Tick the facts you would like to export to Word;

4.   Click Tools – Export Selected Facts – Word Export – OK

5.   Your document should now appear.

You might need to go through this a few times but the more you do, the easier it will become.
