  •   We are the additional support team at Chichester college group. We have a wide range of skilled support staff who can provide effective learning support during your time here at college on all campuses.

    The services we provide are:

    Out of class support - you can access a small group for tutoring once a week for support with: maths, English, study skills and overlearning.

    In class support - we had to go to learning support assistance you can assist your learning within the classroom.

    Exam Arrangements - Please complete the Self-Referral Form and the Data Protection Notice form below to inform us of your exam needs. You will be contacted after these have been received:

    If you have previously had exam arrangements at a previous school or college we can transfer these arrangements to Northbrook, with the correct forms, Form 8 or Form 9, from your school. Please send them to this email address: access.arrangements.northbrook@gbmc.ac.uk
    If have not had exam concessions but feel that you have a learning difficulty or experience difficulties that can affect your exams, we will contact you to be assessed and discuss needs after we have received the forms from above.

    Mentoring - we provide a safe environment for you to come and see one of our support staff to discuss any concerns or issues you may be facing during your time at college. We are not trained counsellors but We are here to help if you need someone to talk to.

    Overlearning - we provide support for you to go over information that has been covered in your classroom to clarify your understanding

    Social support - we can provide sessions to help students develop their social communication skills

    Life skills - we can provide sessions to help students develop their life skills in areas such as finance, cooking, employability and independence.

      Immersive Reader is available in Office 365 applications and helps improve your focus on the text by changing font size and style, text and line spacing and background colour

      Immersive Reader can also read aloud the text for you.

      Dictate function in Word and PowerPoint allows you to voice type.  Look for the microphone icon on the Tool Bar.  

      Editor function

      Editor function in Word helps you with  your grammar and spelling. Click on link below for a video demonstration of Editor.

      How to Use Editor in Word

    • ClaroRead is a simple, easy-to-use software program that helps you to read, write, study and increase your confidence. You can read any on-screen text out loud and improve your writing.

      Claroread software is available on PCs in college and supports reading and writing.  You will find the shortcuts on the desktop. Or go to Start and Programs.
